Teasing the florists: a remarkable mutant of Knautia cf. arvensis (Dipsacaceae).
A remarkable teratology of Knautia cf. arvensis (Dipsacaceae) is analyzed. The plants differ considerably in their shoot structure and instead of multiflowered heads, only single flowers are developed. These flowers are bigger and often 5-merous. The fruits are shorter and wider, and the uppermost part of the epicalyx is variable: a long outgrowth on one side was observed as well as four entire lobes or four strongly toothed lobes.
